Tane mahuta
During my research, I found that the name "Tane" came from a maori mythology. Tane is the son of Ranginui, known as the father of the sky and Papatuanuku mother of the earth. The tree is also known as the 'Lord of the forest'.
Yes, I would like to go to the kauri tree and I would like for other people to come too. Not only so I can experience it, but others can. I would want to go so I would know what its like in the presence of an old kauri tree, and I would want to learn more about it.

http://eng.mataurangamaori.tki.org.nz/Support-materials/Te-Reo-Maori/Maori-Myths-Legends-and-Contemporary-Stories/Maui-and-the-giant-fish
1) He liked to dream of going fishing with his older brothers.
2) He doesnt give up ( He wanted to prove his brothers wrong )
3) Manu is the best fishermen out of all of them.
In this task, I read the story of "Maui and the giant fish". It is about a boy and his brothers. The boy (Maui) is the youngest out of his brothers and Maui wants to go fishing with them, but the brothers dont let him because they think hes too skinny or not old enough.
3 Amazing facts about New Zealand:
1. New Zealands native bird is a Kiwi.
2. In New Zealand there are no snakes.
3. 30 percent of New zealand is packed with forests.

Summer Learning - Task 2
Dear Mr Hadnett,
Lately, I have been thinking of traveling around the world. One of my main goals is to travel to Japan. The reason why is because they have very unique and different types of foods and culture. I was thinking of traveling by Airplane, only because its more quicker. Did you know that Japan is made up of 6,852 Islands and has the population of 126.8 Million.
