Summer Learning Journey - Task One

Three facts about Manu
http://eng.mataurangamaori.tki.org.nz/Support-materials/Te-Reo-Maori/Maori-Myths-Legends-and-Contemporary-Stories/Maui-and-the-giant-fish

1) He liked to dream of going fishing with his older brothers.
2) He doesnt give up ( He wanted to prove his brothers wrong )
3) Manu is the best fishermen out of all of them.

In this task, I read the story of "Maui and the giant fish". It is about a boy and his brothers. The boy (Maui) is the youngest out of his brothers and Maui wants to go fishing with them, but the brothers dont let him because they think hes too skinny or not old enough.

3 Amazing facts about New Zealand:

1. New Zealands native bird is a Kiwi.
2. In New Zealand there are no snakes.
3. 30 percent of New zealand is packed with forests.

  1. Kia ora Karla,

Happy New Year and welcome to the Summer Learning Journey! It is awesome to see students, like yourself, still deciding to join the Summer Learning Journey.

You have shared three very interesting facts about Maui. I especially like that you brought our attention to the fact that Maui does not give up. He worked hard and persevered until he snuck onto the boat and showed his brothers that he could fish.

I really admire the hard work you have put in to introduce the question, highlight the fact and then further introduce who Maui is. However, the question has asked you to provide three interesting facts about our country, New Zealand. In order to receive full points for this activity, could you please re-read the question and edit your post to answer the question.

I am looking forward to re-reading your post.

    Keep up the awesome work,
    Megan :)
